In higher education, as in basketball, hard work pays off. Because of the vision and the commitment of educators and leaders throughout the state, basketball is not the only thing in which Kentucky ranks high nationally. Now, according to a report by the National Center of Higher Education Management Systems (NCHEMS), the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) has become one of the most comprehensive community and technical college systems in the country.

The report praises the work former Governor Paul Patton, legislators, higher education leaders and the business community for having the foresight to create the Kentucky Community and Technical System. KCTCS has provided the state with the assists needed to improve the educational attainment rates of Kentuckians. Just like the NCAA March Madness Tournament, Kentucky has its own sweet sixteen powerhouse teams – the 16 colleges that comprise the Kentucky Community and Technical College System.
